Holiday Hustle! the John M. Barry Boys & Girls Club of Newton's annual 5k run held yesterday, Sunday, December 2, was a great success! Close to 350 runners participated - nearly tripling last year's numbers!
The weather was cool and crisp (perfect to ring in the holidays!), costumed characters cheered and guided runners through the course, and many participants even came in festive attire! Equinox Fitness hosted a warm-up session before the race, Club Kid Sasha Espady revved the crowd with her singing of the national anthem, and everyone enjoyed delicious oatmeal and breakfast items donated and prepared by Whole Foods Market Newtonville.
