Newton Community Farm 2013 CSA Program Enrollment

Newton Community Farm (NCF), 303 Nahanton Street, will accept applications for shares in the 2013 CSA (community-supported agriculture) program in three phases from January 21 through February.   In 2013, sharers will benefit from NCF's successful efforts at season extension, allowing for 24 weeks of delicious, fresh, locally-grown vegetables from June through mid-November.   The cost is $600 for a weekly share and $325 for an alternate week share.  Work commitment is 12 hours for weekly share and six hours for alternate week share, or $10/hour as an alternative.  Applicants must also be a 2013 Friend of the Farm to be considered in the process ($35 for individual, $60 for family).

Phase I, from 1/21 - 2/3 due date, is for 2012 sharers to re-enroll.  Phase II, from 2/4 - 2/24 due date, is for Newton residents.  Sharers will be selected via random lottery.  Phase III (if shares are available) will be for Newton residents and the general public from 2/26 until all shares are allocated (first come, first served).   All forms and checks must be received at NCF (mail or drop off) by the due dates for consideration in each phase.  See NCF website, www.newtoncommunityfarm.org, for more information about the program and process. Forms and additional instructions will be available on the site by January 20th.
