Newton Free Library Looking for Artists for Galleries

The following is a press release from the Newton Free Library:

Call for Artists Newton Free Library The Newton Free Library is seeking submissions from artists to show in the July-December 2012 time period. The due date is Friday, November 4, 2011 at noon.

Please submit the following in-hand or via snail mail to Ellen Meyers, Director of Programs and Communications, Newton Free Library, 330 Homer St., Newton, MA 02459.

•12 digital images of recent, 2-dimensional, original work on a CD in 1200 pixels minimum dimension, jpg format 

•A hard copy, numbered list noting the medium, size and year produced of each piece

•A hard copy, one page resume, 10 point font minimum with artist name and contact information including an email address and phone number. Indicate if you have shown here before and if so specify the date.

•In hard copy, 50 words or less, a brief description of your work. In addition to the 50 words, any limitations on your ability to show in a given month (due travel plans or other extraordinary circumstances) should be specified here. If you are accepted the library will determine when your show will take place and in which space. The assignments are fixed and cannot be changed. You may not request a specific month or gallery space.

•A self-addressed, stamped, letter sized envelope so that we may notify you of the committee’s selections. Or, if you would like your disc returned, a stamped, self-addressed mailer large enough to accommodate the disc. Please be sure to use sufficient postage.
