7NBC/CW56 and Partners HealthCare once again sponsored the Boston Health & Fitness Expo at the Hynes Convention Center. Vital health information was provided to more than 70,000 adults and children who attended the free, two day event.

As part of Partners HealthCare, sixty volunteers from Newton-Wellesley Hospital volunteered their time for the fifth consecutive year by conducting:

- 500+ carotid artery screenings;

- 800+ bone density screenings;

- 500+ blood pressure/stroke screenings;

- numerous risk assessments for hereditary breast, ovarian, uterine and colon cancer; and

- 700+ heart rate/training zone assessments using rowing machines

In addition to the exhibit, - thousands of people enjoyed a life-sized version of Hasbro’s Operation game where families could test their “surgical” skills. Also, Newton-Wellesley Hospital experts presented a variety of lectures throughout the weekend and participated in an “Ask the Doc” panel.
