Antonio was predeceased by wife Katherine Evelyn (Ball) Proia, formerly of Block Island, parents Liberato and Maria Loretta Proia; son Antonio Joseph Proia Jr., formerly of Billerica and wife Jayne E. (Milton) Proia; and daughter-in-law Judith (Johansen) Proia.
Born in Marion County, West Virginia on September 16, 1917, Antonio was one of twelve children who have also predeceased him. He later moved to Newton and then to Billerica. He married Katherine in 1943.
As per his wishes, all services were private and held at the convenience of his family. Interment beside his beloved wife was at Calvary Cemetery, Waltham. In lieu of flowers, a thoughtful remembrance in memory of Katherine Proia may be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.
