The Clothesline Project Exhibits for Domestic Violence Awareness Month
The Clothesline Project will have exhibits around Newton for Domestic Violence Awareness Month. This program, started on Cape Cod in 1990, addresses the issue of violence against women by allowing women affected by violence to express their emotions by decorating t-shirts, which are hung on clotheslines to be viewed by others as a testimony of the problem of domestic violence. Exhibits will be on display at the Newton Senior Center at 345 Walnut St., Newtonville, Newton City Hall at 1000 Commonwealth Ave., Newton, and other sites throughout the city during October.
