Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman will be celebrated next Sunday, Aug. 26, after the Town of Needham today announced the date for a "Rally for Aly."
The rally will begin with a parade starting at 2 p.m. at Town Hall that will head up Highland Avenue to Memorial park. There, a rally will be held, according to an email from Sandy Cincotta, in the Needham Town Manager's office.
Raisman, who got her gymnastic start in Newton, arrived home in the U.S. this week as a local hero. She earned a bronze medal in the individual balance beam competition, a gold medal in the individual floor routine and a gold medal in the team all-around final.
Another rally celebrating Raisman was held Thursday in Burlington, at the site of the Needham resident's gym.
