City Hall Lets it Shine

The annual Holiday Lighting Celebration was held last night at City Hall.

City Hall was filled to the brim last night with the holiday spirit as crowds of children, parents and grandparents packed the building's war memorial for a holiday sing-a-long.

Following an introduction from Mayor Setti Warren, Boston-based composer, author and song leader Nick Page led the crowd in a number of holiday songs from cultures around the world.

Once the singing died down, the crowd of eager kids filed out to the front steps of City Hall, their eyes fixed on the trees surrounding the building.

And then, with a countdown lead by Warren, light filled the trees around City Hall--the impressive sight signifying the start of the holiday season.

Of course, the evening was not complete before the mayor gave his singing voice a time to shine with a reprise of "Jingle Bells."

Check out our video slideshow with some shots from the festive evening and audio clips from the group sing-a-long.
