Members of the Newton South High School Chorale and Madrigals sang the Star Spangled Banner at the graduation ceremony on June 7, 2012.

Mayor Setti Warren reflected upon his own upbringing in Newton in his address to the class of 2012. "My parents' accomplishments was not that they got to Newton. It was what they did after they arrived," he said.

"One of the primary ways these challenges can seem less daunting is through service," said Superintendent David Fleishman.
