Washington Street will be closed tonight (Oct. 17) and tomorrow from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. from Walnut Street in Wellesley to the Newton Line, according to a Wellesley Police alert.

Constructions crews will be relocating a crosswalk and adding a curb extension in the area of Mica Lane, which requires a complete shutdown of the road, the alert says.

Traffic in both directions will be diverted to Walnut Street. Local traffic will be granted access to the area as needed, the alert says.

Police officers will be at the scene. No significant delays are expected.

Traffic will flow normally during the day.
