Historical Commission meets, the Newton Farmers' Market is open and news on NewTV.
1. Have you voted? The Patch pet photo contest has been going on for a week and more than 150 photos have been submitted to the contest. Now, after a week of voting (more than 200 votes cast!) today will wrap things up. You have until noon today to cast your vote for the best pet photo!
2. Newton Historical Commission. The Commission will meet tonight at 7:30 p.m. in room 202 at Newton City Hall. To view the agenda for tonight's meeting, click the .pdf to the right.
3. Farmers' market. The Newton Farmers' Market will set up today at Cold Spring Park from 1:30 p.m. - 6 p.m.
4. Centre Street Food Pantry. The pantry is open on Tuesdays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Eligible people are welcome to shop once per month for a three-day supply of food. Donations of non-perishable food items are always welcome and may be dropped off during pantry hours. The pantry is located at Trinity Episcopal Church.
5. NewTV is upgrading to HD. The station is currently in the process of remodeling its control rooms to accommodate the new equipment. The remodel will likely be finished sometime in October, according to the NewTV website.
