A blood drive, a basketball game and a crime watch meeting.
1. Blood drive. A community blood drive will be held at Temple Reyim today from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Those who donate will receive a coupon for a free pound of Dunkin' Donuts coffee. NOTE: The blood drive was canceled and rescheduled to Wed., Feb. 1 from 1 p.m. - 7 p.m.
2. Crime watch night. Members of the Nonantum Neighborhood Association will hold a crime watch information night tonight in conjunction with the Newton Police. A member from the Newton Police Department will talk with residents about any crime concerns and share information on how to keep neighborhoods safe. The meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. in the Village Bank conference room at 411 Watertown St. Residents can also learn about the neighborhood's new website
3. Go Lions! The Newton South High School boys' varsity basketball team will face Weston in a home match today at 5:30 p.m.
4. Austin Street lot discussion. The Real Property & Reuse Committee will meet tonight at 7:45 p.m. in room 209 at Newton City Hall. The committee is holding this special meeting to discuss the recent appraisal of the Austin Street parking lot.
