Five Things You Need to Know Today: July 18

Hazardous waste drop-offs, a health maintenance clinic and a walk through the woods.

 

1. Hammond Woods walk. Fancy a walk through the woods? Charles Hansen will lead a walk through the western and central part of Hammond Woods this evening starting at 6:30 p.m. Email Hansen at velotrain@­yahoo.­com for more information and parking instructions. 

2. BC Neighborhood Council. The Boston College Neighborhood Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. in room 202 at Newton City Hall.

3. Hazardous waste drop-off. Drop off your hazardous waste today at the Rumford Avenue Recycling Center from 7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. A list of accepted materials is available here

4. Health maintenance clinic. A nurse from the city's Dept. of Health & Human Services will visit the Newton Senior Center for a health maintenance clinic today from 9 a.m. - noon. No appointment necessary.

5. Public Facilities. The Board of Aldermen's Public Facilities Committee will meet tonight at 7 p.m. in City Hall room 209.
