Memorial Day ceremonies in the city and a Division 1 track meet.

 

1. Memorial Day ceremonies. The city will honor its veterans today at a number of parks and memorials throughout the city. Wreath-laying ceremonies will be held at several locations starting at Forte Park at 9 a.m. and ending at the Newton Cemetery at noon. Check this article for a full schedule.

2. Library is closed. The Newton Free Library will be closed today for the Memorial Day weekend.

5. Div. 1 track meet. The Newton North and Newton South indoor track teams will go up against a number of other schools in the Div. 1 meet today. The meet will be held at Durfee High School in Fall River.
