1. Newton Public Schools are off today for the Rosh Hashanah holiday. Happy New Year!
2. Mayor Setti Warren is set to make an announcement today about his campaign amidst rumors that he is dropping out of the U.S. Senate race. The press conference is scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m. at Warren's home in Newton.

4. Because of the the holiday today (and no school), the John M. Barry Boys and Girls Club of Newton will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and it is a free drop in day!
