Feb. 24, 2012 - Just a few hours after police announced Garcia was missing, this flyer is widely distributed in the Boston College and Cleveland Circle communities. In the coming days and weeks, the flyers would spread all across Greater Boston.
Soon after Franco Garcia is reported missing, friends and family start a Facebook group to spread the word about his disappearance. Seven weeks later, the group has grown to more than 3,300 members and has organized events, fundraisers and gathered tips for a private investigator working with the family. The Facebook group is still updated regularly and has started organizing information for Masses and volunteer efforts to help the Garcia family.
Friends of Franco Garcia distribute these photos hoping to give the public a better idea as to what Franco looked like if they spotted him on the street. Garcia, 21, was a senior chemistry major at Boston College who played clarinet and trombone in the school's marching band and symphonic band. He was also on the executive board for the BC Symphonic Band.
Feb. 26, 2012 - Family, friends and fellow BC classmates set up an information table outside Mary Ann's Bar in Cleveland Circle hoping to spread the word about Garcia's disappearance. This would be the first of several Sunday events held in Cleveland Circle.
