Friends of Franco Garcia React to News of Body Found
Preliminary information indicates the body found in the Chestnut Hill Reservoir Wednesday morning is that of missing BC Student Franco Garcia. Friends and members of the BC community took to social media Wednesday afternoon to mourn the loss of Garcia.
Seven weeks after he went missing, officials say that the body pulled from Chestnut Hill Reservoir this morning is that of West Newton resident and Boston College student Franco Garcia.
According to Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel Conley, preliminary information shows that the body in the reservoir is Garcia. Conley said items found on the body as well as clothing helped officials identify Garcia.
Throughout the last seven weeks, Garcia's family has held strong in the hopes that Garcia would return home. Several vigils have been held in Cleveland Circle and church services have been organized in Garcia's name.
Family and friends, in particular Garcia's classmates, have also taken to different forms of social media in hopes of getting the word out about Garcia's disappearance. A Facebook group for Garciahas more than 3,300 members and the Twitter account @FindFranco has nearly 500 followers.
