Carleton Merrill was one of the most decent individuas that I have ever met. I first met Carleton when I was elected to the Board of Aldermen in 1973 and he was the Veterans' Service and Licensing Department head. Over the years we stayed friends and he always treated me with dignity. I will miss you, my friend.
