UPDATED: Patch RV Coming to Newton Today

Due to time constraints, the Patch RV will not be making a stop in Newton today. But enter our contest for a chance to win swag!

Update 1/30: Unfortunately, due to time constraints the Patch RV will not be able to stop in Newton today as previously planned. Sincerest apologies to those who planned on stopping by and getting free swag.

But -- we still have all this swag we'd love to give away. Submit a comment below this story letting us know what your favorite feature is on Newton Patch and we'll enter you into a drawing for a Patch swag gift bag!

The deadline for comments is tomorrow (Tuesday, Jan. 31) at 3 p.m.

UPDATE 2/1: Congratulations to Ellen Sheehy, the winner of the drawing! Ellen will receive a Patch swag bag chock full of great stuff. Keep the comments coming and keep your eyes peeled for more contests.

----

The Patch RV used to cover the 2012 presidential campaign trail is rolling into Newton Monday afternoon on its way home.

The 'Patchfinder,' which got its name in a New Hampshire Patch contest, is an RV wrapped in green with Patch branding. The vehicle has made the rounds in the early-primary states as Patches there — Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina — provided their residents with comprehensive local coverage.

The RV has been making its way back up the East Coast, and will be outside Newton City Hall and the public library tomorrow, Monday, roughly from 3-5 p.m.

Stop by to meet and chat up Newton Editor Melanie Graham, learn more about how you can use Patch, sign up for the Patch newsletter — and pick up some free Patch swag. What will we be giving away? You have to stop by to find out.

We will let you know on Twitter and Facebook when the Patch RV arrives in town. See you tomorrow outside city hall!

Don't know if you'd call it a feature, but I love your Facebook feed for getting my up-to-the-minute local news.

The Patch is really picking up steam in Newton, but I think you still need to do better getting the word out and building awareness. I think you're providing a great service and hope you keep it up and continue to expand. We need quality local journalism in this town in a bad way....

Forgot to mention my favorite feature. I do really like the daily Five Things, but more than that, I find the speed with which you report breaking news to be impressive, and miles ahead of any other news sources.

Thanks to all of you for your comments. Keep them coming!

@Gregg -- we're definitely planning on more events to get the word out in 2012. Unfortunately, this was supposed to be one of them! If you have any suggestions for us, feel free to send them along. We'd love to hear your ideas!

Melanie - great job you and the folks at Patch do every day. The unbiased high quality writing and quantity of info and frequent updates is impressive, 5 things for the day is part of my required reading, and the comprehensive calendar/events section is awesome. Keep up the great work!

Thanks again, everyone, for all of these! Feel free to keep commenting. Here is one from Andrew Greene via Twitter (who had sone login troubles today):

@nmHz: "I love the fact that every article is accompanied by a map that shows exactly WHERE in Newton the event is."

I also love the five things for the day. I look forward to the Patch email every day. And as mentioned earlier, you always seem to have breaking news first. I also love the ease with which one can enter upcoming events and get the word out on anything that is going on.

Was bummed when we couldn't find the van yesterday. Thanks for the explanation.

My favorite features are the 5 things as well as the police logs, they let me know what is happening in my neighborhood ( good or bad) much quicker and more in depth than the local news
