Joseph Kennedy III Moves to Brookline, Registers to Vote

Currently exploring a congressional run for Barney Frank's seat, Joseph Kennedy III has moved into a Greenough Street home and registered to vote in Brookline.

Just a few blocks away from Brookline High, one of the town's newest residents is gearing up for his run for congress. Joseph Kennedy III is now a registered Democratic voter in BrooklineYourTown Brookline reports.

Kennedy formed an exploratory committee for his congressional run at the beginning of the year, and resigned as a Middlesex County prosecutor, but lived in Cambridge at the time.

Earlier this year, rumors indicated Kennedy was going to move to Newton to run for the seat vacated by Barney Frank.

According to the Boston Herald, the town clerk's office described Kennedy as quiet when he came to register his Greenough Street address, saying thanked them, and left.

"If you had not recognized him, there was no indication he was anyone special," assistant town clerk Linda Golburgh told the Herald.

Also currently exploring a congressional run, Brookline Library Trustee (and Patch columnist) Michael Burstein, who announced his exploratory committee to run as a Democrat yesterday. As well as, Brookline Democrat Jules Levine and Newton Democrat Herb Robinson have also announced campaigns for the Fourth District seat.

On the Republican side, former Fourth District contender Sean Bielat, and Brookline School Committee member and Republican Elizabeth Childs have both already announced runs for the seat.

Special? Yea, he is special. He comes from a family that killed, philandered and stole their way to wealth and power then found the public trough! Another Kennedy to live off my tax dollars, just what this state needs! Go ahead liberals vote him in because of his last name and try to tell me they only care about public service! I have a bridge to sell to anyone who believes THAT!

Let's have someone from the middle class, who knows the challenges of the middle class, knows how it is to stretch a dollar and the struggle of finding a job, represent the middle class.

Sean Bielat went to private school in NY and eventually made $150K a year. JK3 is a fine person but he went to private school (BB&N) at $30K a year for 13 years and will probably never know what it is like to live as middle class. Paul went to public school and then had to earn everything and has had to struggle to get the little he has.

Paul worked as a janitor after high school and then at a community YMCA for 7 years, in a jail and a prison and in Saudi Arabia. He started at community night school, earned good grades and worked his way up in college and took out debt to go to Harvard and the London School of Economics.

Paul never used connections to get a job, and knows what it is like to struggle to find a job and to pay bills. With Paul's education, he could have joined the 1% but he did not - he choose 11 years of public service. Paul is the middle class who wrote about public policy for free in news papers all over the 4th district because he cares about the issues and the district well before this campaign.
