League of Women Voters Elects Newton Resident as Co-President

The Mass. League of Women Voters recently announced its new elected board and directors, including a Newton resident.

At a recent League of Women Voters Massachusetts meeting in Peabody, the group elected a local woman to serve as a co-president.

Newton resident Anne Borg is now on the Mass. League of Women Voters' board as a co-president, according to a recent League of Women Voters announcement. 

Marilyn Peterson of Acton was also elected to serve in that capacity.

The group of new elected board members and directors hail from all over the Commonwealth. Each of them has been elected to a two-year term lasting until May of 2015.

Anne has been LWVMA’s first vice president and is a Scharfman Fund trustee. She was one of LWVMA’s original Membership and Leadership Development coaches and a member of the Strategic Planning Committee. Anne is a Newton League co-president, and has served as vice president, treasurer, communications chair, membership database manager, and voters’ guide editor.
