New Newtonville Frozen Yogurt Shop to Open Sunday

The YoFresh Frozen Yogurt Cafe is located in the space formerly occupied by Twig.

A new self-serve frozen yogurt "cafe" is ready to open its doors tomorrow in Newtonville.

As indicated by a sign posted on the front door of the Austin Street business, the new YoFresh Yogurt Cafe will be open Sunday, Sept. 16 at 11 a.m.

Earlier this summer, Newton Patch confirmed with YoFresh that it would be opening the first Massachusetts storefront at 14 Austin St., which was formerly occupied by Twig florist.

With YoFresh moving into the 951-square-foot space, the building at 10-20 Austin St. will be up to 100 percent occupancy, according to a YoFresh statement issued in July.

The Boston-based YoFresh Yogurt Cafe offers "all-natural, healthy yogurts" with a variety of toppings customers can add to the yogurt.

YoFresh has locations in nine states, including a cart in Faneuil Hall Marketplace in downtown Boston.

This is the second self-serve frozen yogurt spot to open up in Newton in the last year; Sweet Tart in Newton Centre opened its doors in September 2011.

Soon, Sweet Tart and YoFresh will be joined by one of the pioneers of the frozen yogurt trend -- Pinkberry. W.S. Development announced earlier this year that Pinkberry will be moving in to the Chestnut Hill Shopping Center

Will be interesting to see how they do during the coldest months of the year, or do they have a seasonally based flex business strategy?
