Newton North graduate and current Williams Elementary School Principal Midge Connolly will be the next vice principal at Newton North High School. 

According to a report in The Newtonite, Newton North's student paper, officials selected Connolly for the position yesterday. 

Connolly was one of two finalists for the position, which is currently held by Deborah Holman. Holman announced earlier this year that she will be leaving to take the position of Brookline High School headmaster.

Steve Martin, a teacher and principal intern in the Holden Public Schools, was the other finalist for the vice principal position. Both Martin and Connolly visited Newton North this week to meet with teachers and students.

Connolly is set to begin the new position in the fall.
