Newton Police Seek Help in Identifying Alleged Credit Card Thief
The man allegedly broke into a Newtonville Avenue home on Tues., June 26 and stole a Discover Card, which was used at a Foot Locker in Cambridge.
The Newton Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a man who allegedly stole a credit card from a Newtonville Avenue home this week and used it at a Cambridge shoe store.
According to police reports, the suspect broke into the Newtonville Avenue home on Tues., June 26 and stole numerous items, including a Discover Card.
Police said the suspect attempted to use the credit card several times, including two failed attempts at the Market Street Gulf Station in Brighton at 12:13 p.m. and 12:16 p.m. Tuesday as well as at the Cambridge Side Galleria Finish Line sports store at 2:24 p.m.
The suspect did make a successful purchase with the card at the Cambridge Side Galleria Foot Locker on Tuesday at 1:48 p.m., police said.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his late 20s or early 30s with "scruffy" dark hair and wearing a white t-shirt (pictured to the right).
