Newton Ranked No. 1 Place "For the Rich and Single"
Have money? Need a date? Newton is the place to be, says CNN Money.
Earlier this week, CNN Money named Newton the fourth best small city in America -- but the awards for the Garden City didn't end there.
In addition to its "best place to live" list, CNN Money also listed the top 25 cities and towns to live in if you're "rich and single," and Newton made it to the number one spot.
According to the CNN Money report, 31.2 percent of Newton's population is single. The median family income is $145,639 and the average home listing price in July 2012 was $850,117.
The article notes the many celebrities that have called Newton home, including actor Matt Damon and comedian Louis C.K.
CNN Money also recognizes a few fun things to do on a date with your Newton sweetie, such as seeing Newton's symphony orchestras, snuggling up at Crystal Lake or going to Hemlock Gorge's Echo Bridge to "shout your love."
Neighboring Brookline also ranked high on the list, coming in at number three.
Some of the other top "rich and single" locations include Hoboken, New Jersey (#2), Arlington, Virginia (#4) and Redondo Beach, California (#5).
In other recent rankings, Newton South High School was listed as the 11th best school in the state by the U.S. News and World Report. Newton North ranked at number 38.
Late last year, Newton was also named the fifth safest city in the U.S.
