Newton Residents Graduate from Emory Univ., College of Saint Rose, Washington Univ.

Theresa Staulo receives degree from College of Saint Rose

Waban resident Theresa Staulo recently received a degree from The College of Saint Rose in Albany, New York. 

According to a press release from the school, Staulo was one of 1,791 members of the Class of 2012. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Newton Highlands resident makes honors list at Oxford College

Liesl Matzka, of Newton Highlands, was recently named to the honors list at Oxford College in Oxford, Georgia.

According to a press release from the school, students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher to be named to the list. The two-year liberal arts school is a division of Emory University. 

Four Newton residents graduate from Emory University

Four Newton residents recently graduated from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.

According to a press release from the school, Emily Ronkin and Jenny Soiffer, both of Waban, each received a Bachelor of Arts degree. Steven Copacino  and Joshua Goldman, both of Newton, each received a Bachelor of Business Administration. 

The school's commencement was held on May 14, 2012.

Carmine Camerato named to SMU's honor roll

Newton resident Carmine Camerato was recently named to the honor roll at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. 

According to a press release from the school, students must be in the top 10 percent of their school of record in order to make the list. 

Kayla Arno named to Providence College Dean's List

Newton resident Kayla Arno was recently named to the Providence College Dean's List for spring 2012.

According to a press release from the school, students must achieve at least a 3.55 grade point average with a minimum of 12 credits to make the list. 

Sara Rosenbaum graduates from Washington University

Newton resident Sara Rosenbaum, daughter of Susan and David Rosenbaum, recently earned a bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in Spanish from Washington University.

Rosenbaum also graduated with honors. 

According to a press release from the St. Louis, Missouri school, Rosenbaum was among the 784 December graduates recognized during the December Degree Candidate Recognition Ceremony, which was held Dec. 3. The university's all-school commencement ceremony was held May 18.

Six Newton residents named to Emory College Dean's List

Six Newton residents were recently named to the Emory College Dean's List for spring 2012.

According to a press release from the Atlanta, Georgia school, students must be in the top 20 percent of Emory College or have approximately a 3.859 grade point average or higher to be named to the list.

The Newton students who made the list include Ari BuchmanSophia Dean, and Gil Metser. Waban residents Zachary KellyHilary Lerner, and Rachel Rosenbaum were also named to the list.
