was held on $100,000 cash bail today on separate charges out of West Roxbury.

In addition to his bail, Ettlinger was ordered to wear a GPS monitoring device and if he posts bail, to have no contact with children. A sentence for the first charge could come with up to 10 years in state prison and the second charge carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years and up to 20, the DA's office said.

“Let’s be clear about what this case entails,” Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said in a press release. “It arises out of a long-term federal investigation into the violent sexual abuse of children across state lines and national boundaries. The investigation led to Boston, and more specifically to state charges against this defendant. The evidence as it stands suggests a despicable violation of every duty he had to protect the innocent and vulnerable, and we intend to prosecute that violation aggressively.”

Ettlinger, who teaches at , was arrested at his Commonwealth Avenue home yesterday and charged with two counts of possession of child pornography after authorities found multiple images on his computer of children under 18 "in sexualized contexts." Ettlinger was arraigned in Brighton District Court and held on $10,000 cash bail.

At the time, the judge also held him without bail due to the pending case in West Roxbury.

The West Roxbury charges stem from images of a young girl found in Ettlinger's apartment yesterday after authorities executed a search warrant. The DA's office said this girl is a family friend under the age of 14 and is not a student in Newton.

Authorities believe the assault happened somewhere in the jurisdiction of West Roxbury court which includes Hyde Park, Jamaica Plain, Roslindale, West Roxbury, and parts of Mattapan and Mission Hill. However, the exact age and location of the assault is not being disclosed to protect the girl's privacy.

According to reports from New England Cable News, authorities allege Ettlinger often babysat for the girl and would videotape himself pushing down her underwear to expose her private parts.

Authorities also found a number of images and videos on Ettlinger's computer of young girls being assaulted as well as several pairs of young girls' underwear Ettlinger had taken from public areas, NECN reported.

Ettlinger was a member of a social media website where members are rewarded based on the videos they post of children being assaulted, authorities said.

Due to his involvement with that site, Ettlinger could also face federal charges out of Louisiana (where the site was based), CBS Boston reported

As he had done Tuesday, Assistant District Attorney David Deakin requested bail be set at $250,000 cash. Ettlinger's lawyers requested a $5,000 cash bail.

At a press conference Tuesday, Newton Superintendent David Fleishman said Ettlinger has been a teacher in Newton for 12 years; he was hired as a second grade teacher at  Elementary School and since then has taught both second and third grade at Underwood. This year, Ettlinger had 27 students in his second grade classroom and was the advisor to the school's recycling program.

Ettlinger's last day in the school was Friday, Jan. 13, as he did not arrive at school Tuesday morning. He is currently on paid administrative leave and a substitute teacher has been put in his place.

Fleishman said in an email Wednesday to Newton Patch that he plans to move forward with firing Ettlinger. Ettlinger is entitled to a hearing within 10 days before a decision is made, Fleishman added.

Ettlinger's next court date in Brighton District Court is scheduled for Feb. 16. He is expected to be back in West Roxbury District Court on Feb. 17.
