Nov. 13, 2012 - A wide variety of apples from Apex Orchards (based in Shelburne Falls, MA). This is the first time Apex has participated in a Newton market.

After three decades of a successful summer/fall market, the Newton Parks & Recreation Department launched the city's first winter farmers' market on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012.
The new market is held at the Hyde Community Center in Newton Highlands on Tuesdays from 1:30 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Although the weather was wet and the temperatures were bitter cold, 116 patrons arrived in the first hour the winter market, according to market managers. By 4:30 p.m., roughly 250 came to check out the new market.
