When it came down to crunch time, Newton South was able to nearly double their 19 points from the first three quarters against Westford Academy, but it didn't make a dent in the final margin of victory as the Grey Ghosts held their more than 20 point lead in the last quarter of play, winning 52-31 on Friday night.

Sophomore Sam Hyslip had 13 points for the victors, leading all scorers, while senior Kelsey Stanvick had 8 points for the Grey Ghosts.

Both teams hit the hardwood again on Tuesday night as Westford will try to improve on their now 3-0 record as they travel to Weston while Newton will take their 1-2 record to Concord-Carlisle.
