A Natick man was arrested Friday after he was allegedly shoplifting from stores on Needham Street.
Frank A. McGuire, 41, of 197 W. Central St., was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property, obstruction of justice (false name to a police officer) and shoplifting, police said. McGuire was also wanted on seven warrants.
According to police reports, officers responded to a Needham Street store around 7:15 p.m. after an employee suspected a man was shoplifting. The employee said the man (McGuire) had walked into the changing room with several items. McGuire then took a number of razor blades out of security packaging and hid them under a shelf to be used later, reports said.
Police located McGuire at his vehicle in the parking lot and informed him of the shoplifting investigation. McGuire then gave police a false name, reports said.
During the investigation, police found numerous unopened electric toothbrushes on the front seat of the car as well as new boxes of Advil, toothbrush replacement heads and tooth whitening treatment. After taking the items across the street to a CVS, police officers found that all the items had been stolen from that store.
Upon further investigation, police found McGuire's real name and realized there were seven warrants out for his arrest for probation violations, larcenies, shoplifting, motor vehicle infractions and violations of abuse prevention orders. Reports said three warrants were out of Wayland, one out of Sudbury, one out of Waltham, one out of Framingham and one out of Marlborough.
