Cypress Street's Ruth Goldman was the Bowen Elementary School liaison for the override campaign.

Cypress Street resident Ruth Goldman has announced she will run for the open Ward 6 Newton School Committee seat in this fall's municipal election.

The current Ward 6 representative (and School Committee chair), Claire Sokoloff, is not seeking re-election due to term limits; Sokoloff has served four 2-year terms. [Editor's note: this paragraph has been changed; the original version said Sokoloff had served only three terms.]
