Jamaica Plain's Sam Adams Brewery was the site Thursday of the debut of a special Boston Marathon beer.
"26.2 Brew," named for the number of miles in a marathon, will be available at bars along the route of the Boston Marathon. It will also be available at race events.
The well-known "Newton hills" make up roughly five and a half miles of the marathon route, from the Wellesley/Newton Lower Falls line, up Washington Street and on to Commonwealth Avenue. As runners pass Newton City Hall, they climb the famous Heartbreak Hill before heading into Brighton.
This year's Marathon will take place on Monday, April 16. This is the first time theBoston Athletic Association, which organizes the race, has partnered with Sam Adams.
