State troopers and Newton Police spent all day Friday, April 29, searching  for a missing 35-year-old Newton man who is on foot with no cash or credit cards.

Todd Rooney, who lives on Cherry Street in Newton with his father, has been missing since April 20, after an argument with his father.

“He wanted us to know he loved us very much and said goodbye. We haven’t heard from him since,” she said.

Appleton said his cellular phone was on after that and showed a “ping” off of a cell tower in Hopkinton. But, she said, police were unable to pinpoint where it was. The only thing they could do was give an 8-mile radius which said he could be in Marlborough, Hopkinton, Northborough, Framingham or Natick.

Framingham, she said, was his second home as he spent his younger years there.

“We’ve been out searching every day, going to bars, driving around the areas where he lived. Today we’re heading out to walk the train tracks from Natick to Framingham,” Appleton said.

Rooney is about 5 feet, 9 inches tall, 145 pounds with a skull tattoo on his upper arm and an eagle tattoo on his upper back. His hair is cropped salt-and-pepper mixed with brown and he may have some facial hair. Rooney has a 10-year-old son and a 6-year-old daughter.
