State Police Identify Mass Pike Crash Victim

Roslindale woman identified as victim in the i-90 crash yesterday, according to Mass. State Police.

 

A woman killed in a three-car crash on the Mass Pike yesterday has been identified by Mass State Police as a 43-year-old Roslindale woman, Ana M. Espinal. 

According to the press release from State Police, she was driving a 1996 Toyota Corolla involved with three cars, which sustained serious damage and trapped injured occupants inside. The Newton Fire Department responded to the crash, and was able to extricate the three people trapped inside, however Espinal suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene.

The other two occupants, , were taken to Beth Israel hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police are not releasing their names.  

The other two drivers were not injured in the crash. Police are still investigating the cause, but do not believe alcohol was a factor.

State Police closed the ramps from the Mass Pike to Route 95, north and southbound, and the ramp from Route 95 to the Pike for about two hours, while MSP crash reconstruction teams worked at the scene.
