Student Successes: Newton Natives Graduate from Bard College, Make Dean's Lists

Five Newton residents make Bryant University Dean's List
Newton residents Meital Altman, Catherine Corbett, Samuel Johnson and Charles Pappas as well as Auburndale resident Leanne Precopio recently made the Bryant University Dean's List for the spring 2012 semester.
According to a press release from the Smithfield, RI school, Altman is a junior majoring in management, Corbett is a sophomore majoring in accounting, Johnson is a senior majoring in marketing and Pappas and Precopio are juniors majoring in accounting.
Rae-Marie Copan makes Saint Joseph's College Dean's List
Newton resident Rae-Marie Copan recently made the spring 2012 Dean's List at Saint Joseph's College in Maine, according to a press release issued by the Standish-based school.
In order to make the list, a student must have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher, the press release said.
Elyse Gentile named to Saint Michael's College Dean's List
Auburndale resident Elyse Gentile was recently named to the Saint Michael's College Dean's List for spring 2012, according to a press release issued by the school.
Gentile is a junior at the Burlington, VT college and is majoring in elementary education and art.
Students who make the Dean's List must complete a minimum of 12 credits and achieve a grade point average of 3.4 or higher, the press release said.
Seven Newton residents make URI's Dean's List
A number of Newton residents recently qualified for the spring 2012 Dean's List at the University of Rhode Island. Newton residents Leighton F Culici, Alice Husaini, Edward Pang, Marissa L Troy and Michele J Troy made the list as well as West Newton resident Amanda Roslyn Taylor and Auburndale resident Naeun Kang.
According to a press release issued by the Kingston, RI school, students must complete 12 or more credits in a semester and achieve a 3.3 grade point average in order to make the list.
Newton residents receive bachelor's degrees from Bard College
Jessica Lebovits and Tyler Patterson as well as Newton Centre residents Kabren Levinson and Lily Saporta-Tagiuri recently graduated from Bard College in Annadale-on-Hudson, NY.
The four graduates each received bachelor's degrees during the school's 152nd commencement on Sun., May 26, 2012, according to a press release from the school.
Emily Heeren makes Gettysburg College Dean's List
Newton resident Emily Heeren recently made the spring 2012 Dean's List at Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, PA.
According to a press release issued by the school, students must make a 3.60 grade point average or higher to make the Dean's List.
