Summer Films and Concerts at Newton's Hyde Center

Fridays in the Highlands mean movie-music combo shows at the Hyde Community Center on Lincoln Street.

If you need something to do on Friday nights this summer, Newton Highlands is the place to be.

The Hyde Community Center offers free movies and concerts on Friday evenings in the summer, starting June 29. All movies and concerts are held outside in the Hyde Playground and if it rains, the show is moved inside the gym.

Concerts start at 6 p.m. and movies begin at dusk.

Drinks and snacks are sold during the shows and Lincoln Street Coffee sells ice cream on the playground.

Patrons are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs to the shows, which are sponsored by the Newton Highlands Area Council, Whole Foods, Newton-Wellesley Hospital and Lincoln Street Coffee.
