Add one more Newton basketball team to the list of semi-final teams in the South Div. 1 Sectional Tournament. 

The No. 7-ranked Newton North boys basketball team beat No. 2 Weymouth yesterday in a quarterfinal match 54-45. 

The Tigers (now 18-6) will move on to face No. 3 New Bedford (18-3) in a semi-final match Tuesday evening at UMass Boston. The game is set to start at 7 p.m.

After a win Friday night, the No. 3 Newton South girls basketball team slid into a semi-final spot after taking down Taunton. They will face Mansfield Wednesday at 7:45 p.m. at Massasoit Community College.
