VIDEO: Newton Marks September 11 Anniversary

The city held a somber ceremony this morning on the steps of the War Memorial at Newton City Hall. Mayor Setti Warren offered remarks along with Post 440 Commander Tom Shoemaker, Fire Chief Bruice Proia and Newton clergy members.

Sept. 11, 2012 - The city of Newton marked the anniversary of September 11, 2001 at a somber ceremony held on the steps of the City Hall War Memorial. Newton Mayor Setti Warren spoke along with American Legion Post 440 Commander Tom Shoemaker, Fire Chief Bruce Proia and several Newton clergy members. The ceremony included the ringing of bells to mark the lives lost on that tragic day as well as the playing of "Taps." Later today, the city will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for a September 11 memorial at Newton Fire Headquarters.
