Visions for Vacancies: 341 Washington St., Former G&N Cleaners
Tell us what you think should go in this empty Newton Corner storefront.
Welcome to Visions for Vacancies, a Patch feature and a place where you can weigh in with your ideas about what kind of businesses you’d like to see occupying empty storefronts around Newton.
Each week, we’ll highlight a vacant building, storefront or structure around the city. Then, we’ll leave it you, the Newton community, to sound off on what you’d like to see there.
This week we’re at 341 Washington St. in Newton Corner, the former G&N Cleaners.
Although the space is located on busy Washington Street, there is a parking lot for the building in addition to nearby metered spaces. It sits next to a Dunkin' Donuts, near Max & Leo's Pizza and across from the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
The space is currently for lease and is listed with Auburndale-based Godino & Co., Inc.

Wow, that's a tough location. I'm going to be creative and say a local car rental place, since it's near the Pike and across from the hotel.

As a Newton Corner resident, I wish there was a Korean bbq or Asian fusion place that had Pho, Korean, Bento boxes & cold noodles etc. Please no more banks or pizza places.

I live in Newton Corner, too, Keith. Nice to meet you, neighbor!
Their are Asian places in Oak Square not to far from Newton Corner, though! Retail is a tough biz to be in these days!

Having stayed at the hotel often, I hear what people are missing in Newton Corner. A 24/7 convenience store would solve many visitors' and locals' needs. They want a place to get food and drink at odd hours, cigarettes and lighters, newspapers and magazines other than USA Today. The vending machines at the hotel are way too expensive...$2.25 for a can of soda. Many hotel guests arrive late at night and all the dining places generally stop serving at 10-10:30 or earlier if business is slow.
