The old City Sports/Century Bank building has been reduced to rubble. Meanwhile, a new City Sports officially opened last week, along with a new Pottery Barn and Sports Cub/LA.

The former City Sports/Century Bank building in Chestnut Hill was recently torn down as WS Development (owners of The Street) plan to build a three-story, mixed-use building in its place. The tear-down is part of a redevelopment and reconstruction project going on at the shopping center, which recently opened a brand new 115,000-square-foot retail and restaurant building on the former Macy's site.

As we noted earlier this month, the former City Sports/Century Bank building at 37 Boylston St. in Chestnut Hill is no more -- and we recently caught some of the clean-up on video.

This site will soon be the home of a three-story, mixed-use building that will include retail space, office space and potentially restaurant space. The project is part of owner WS Development's redevelopment of the Chestnut Hill Shopping Center, which is now rebranded as The Street.

Meanwhile, City Sports has officially reopened a few doors down in a new, 115,000-square-foot building on the former Macy's site. The City Sports opened on Thursday, March 14 and held a grand opening celebration on Saturday, March 16.

In addition to City Sports, the new Sports Club/LA and Pottery Barn have also opened in the same building.

Century Bank will reopen in Chestnut Hill this fall at New England Development's Chestnut Hill Square development, located at the former Omni Foods site off Route 9.
