Who Does Sean Bielat Work For? Now We Know
The Republican 4th Congressional District Candidate reveals the name of his employer, One Click Politics.
OneClickPolitics.com is a website which promises to "Tell everyone in Washington what you think with one click."
It is also the internet startup Sean Bielat revealed he heads up, WBUR reported last night. Bielat says he wanted to keep the name out of the race, to keep the website non-partisan.
The website allows users to quickly send messages to members of the House and Senate by picking a topic and headline. Message headlines on the One Click Politics site included issues like "Pass a budget!", "Stand with Israel" and "Pledge to Repeal ObamaCare and Pass Real Health Care Reform."
The Globe reports that the website will have other left-leaning messages rotate onto the homepage.
Previously, the other contenders in the race had criticized Bielat's secrecy--mainly from his Republican rivals.
In a July 12 press release, Brookline resident and fellow Republican contender, Elizabeth Childs said, "Although Mr. Bielat has chosen not to answer questions about his primary source of income, voters deserve open and honest answers about their candidate's business interests."
The secrecy had also prompted one Esquire Magazine blogger to suggest "Nobody is the boss of Sean Bielat."
Bielat, a Former Fourth District challenger, is running against fellow Republicans Elizabeth Childs and Fall River Dentist David Steinhof in the September 6 primary. Democrats Joseph Kennedy III of Brookline, Herb Robinson of Newton, and LaRouche Democrat Rachel Brown are also vying for the seat.
