This postcard arrived in my mailbox yesterday (Dec. 12, 2012), perhaps 60-100 years late! It is a travel postcard from Key Biscayne, Miami Florida (where incidentally I have many relatives) addressed perhaps to the first or early owner of our house. The 1cent stamp was used between the late 1890's and 1952- or thereabouts.
It says:
"Hollywood, Fla. Feb. 25th -- Such sights as we are seeing, I never imagined such things, beautiful estates and park-like suburbs, they are beautiful. Should like to see this section in 25 yrs. more. It ought to be paradise on earth. We'll be home soon. Love, Abby"
If Abby could see the Miami and Biscayne Bay area today, she may reconsider her "paradise on earth" prediction?

According to the 1929 Newton city directory, Benoni (Katherine J.) Moore was a journalist living at 28 Putnam Street.

Thanks Marie! That means the USPS delivered the postcard 83 years late.
