The Rotary Clubs of Newton and Waltham present the 12th annual “Death By Chocolate” – the delicious yearly event that raises money for scholarships.
WHO: Newton Rotary Club President Justin Sallaway and Waltham Rotary Club President Stewart Woodward and the two clubs host a number of local chefs, vendors, restaurants, caterers, stores, and businesses.
WHAT: A fun day of eating and tasting chocolate. There will be competitions in five categories: Best Chocolate Cake; Best Brownie; Best Cookie; Best Candy; and Best Unique Dessert. Those who sample will be the judges! Tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for children under 12.
WHEN: Sunday, January 27, 2013, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
WHERE: The Crowne Plaza Hotel - Newton, 320 Washington St. Free parking.
WHY: Proceeds to benefit local charities including The Boys and Girls Clubs, The Salvation Army, The YMCA.
About Justin Sallaway and The Price Center
Newton Rotary Club President Justin Sallaway has served as president of The Price Center since 2004. For more than thirty years, people with disabilities and their families from throughout the Greater Boston area have relied on The Price Center for residential, day habilitation and employment programs that foster clients’ self-confidence and maximize their physical, emotional and intellectual capabilities. The Price Center began in 1977 by offering vocational services to disabled adults in Newton, Mass. The Center’s first day habilitation program was launched in Dedham in 1987. Ten years later, The Price Center began its residential programs, taking ownership of Humanity House in Brookline in 1997. Since then, The Price Center opened three additional residences, expanded its day habilitation program to Newton and established a robust employment services program, also in Newton. The Price

Newly renovated in 2011, the Crowne Plaza Boston Newton Hotel, which is part of the Intercontinental Group hotel chain, has 270 rooms and has amenities such as an indoor heated pool, a fitness center and a lobby restaurant/lounge, Martha's, which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The hotel will also pick-up and drop off dry cleaning. There are guest computers next to the lobby. In addition, there are meeting rooms and services for businesses and business clientele.
