The Leventhal-Sidman Jewish Community Center (333 Nahanton Street) in Newton will hold a fitness center open house on Sunday, January 6 from 8am-noon. The event includes free demonstrations in the Pilates Studio, JCC personal trainers available to discuss fitness needs, information about the JCC’s Take It Off weight loss program, free nutrition bar samples and music. Community members can sample group fitness classes such as Zumba, spinning, cardio blast, yogalates, JBarre and turbo kick. A special Family Zumba class will be offered from 11-11:45am. Located on Nahanton Street in Newton, the Leventhal-Sidman Jewish Community Center offers fitness, arts, education, childcare and entertainment opportunities for members of all races, religions and ethnicities.
The center features a full gym, outdoor pool, tennis courts, locker rooms, cardio center, indoor track and rock climbing area. Classes, personal training and group fitness programs are offered. Regularly scheduled musical, dramatic and comedy performances take place in the center's theater.
