The 24th Annual Boston Jewish Film Festival - My Lovely Sister
West Newton Cinema, 1296 Washington St, West Newton, MA | Get Directions »
$12.00
In this Sephardic mix of melodrama, surrealism, and mysticism, inspired by a Moroccan fairy tale, the troubled marriage of the ultra-superstitious Rahma and her coarse husband, Robert, is tested further by his love of a good-looking ghost. That’s Rahma’s deceased sister, Mary, who died from the pain of banishment for marrying an Arab man. This brilliant original love story was nominated for 11 Ophirs (Israeli Oscars).

More About West Newton Cinema
Built in 1937, the West Newton Cinema is a beautiful building located on Washington Street. Much of the architecture from its original construction has not been changed, giving the theater a classic feel. They specialize in screening films that are unique and under the radar. However, they also screen big budget films from the major production companies. Though the architecture is old, their theaters are state of the art.
