Get a Senior Charlie Card, Newton Actress in a Play, Picture Books on Film
A few things you need to know for Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, in Newton.
1. Seniors can renew or sign up for a Senior Charlie-Card pass at the Senior Center and avoid the trip to Downtown Crossing. The event is today from 2-4 p.m. Applicants must be over 65 and bring a photo ID that includes a birthdate.
2. Tonight at 8 p.m., Newton's Julia Fein will appear at TCAN in Natick in the play "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee." In this Tony Award-winning musical comedy, six young people in the throes of puberty, overseen by grown-ups who barely managed to escape childhood themselves, learn that winning isn’t everything and that losing doesn’t necessarily make you a loser. 3. Kids can see picture books on film at the Newton Free Library today at 10:30 a.m.
4. The Newton School for Children Childcare Center, a school for children 15 months to five years old, is hosting an open house today from 9-11 a.m. and 4-5 p.m. The school is located at 24 Lenglen Road, Suite 2 in Newton.
