Indoor Farmers Market, Israeli Consul Speaks, Movie Screening

A few things you should know for Tuesday, Dec. 17 in Newton.

1. Check out the Indoor Farmers Market today from 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Hyde Community Center, 90 Lincoln St. in Newton. 

2. Ambassador Ido Aharoni, Consul General of Israel in New York will speak today at 7:30 a.m. at the Newton Marriott. He has served as head of Israel’s Brand Management Team, focusing on bringing about a paradigm shift in the perception of Israel’s public image. Complimentary breakfast will be served. Find out more here.

3. The Suzuki School of Music presents a special performance today at 5:15 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 848 Beacon Street, Newton Centre. Come and enjoy the wonderful group performances of our violin and viola students, ranging from the very beginner to the advanced high school students. Admission is free.

4. The Newton Free Library hosts a film "The Dewey Stone Connection" tonight at 7 p.m. The film details Brockton resident and businessman Dewey Stone’s incredible life story and the instrumental, secret role he played in the struggle for the creation of the state of Israel. The film was inspired by Brockton resident Walter Newman’s extensive research.
