Health: The Key to Weight Loss

Health is the key to weight loss. Attaining ones health first, opens the doors to weight loss. So this post-holiday New Year season, make your health your first priority.

“But will it help me lose weight?”

It is one of the most frequently asked questions. Weight loss is at the forefront of our societies brain. A multi-billion dollar industry. 

At one time or another, many of us have intentions set for weight loss. However, it is when those intentions are carried out with little regard for our health, does the divide between health and weight loss become strikingly apparent. 

It is true, that when in excess, additional body weight can challenge our health. However, when ones means of losing weight further deplete our state of health, the issue of excess weight is no longer the main a concern.

The epic “battle of the bulge” has in some cases become just that, a battle between weight loss and health. A disconnect has formed between weight loss and health. When once the goal of weight loss was to attain health, it now appears that for some, the goal of weight loss is solely to lose the physical weight. Many times, this determination can lead an individual striving for weight loss at the cost of their health. When in reality….

Attaining ones health first, opens the doors to weight loss. Health disarms the body, refuels the systems, repletes the vitamins, minerals and key chemicals that allow the body to mobilize excess stores.

Health permits our body to loose weight.

Health is individual for each person, thus weight loss is individual for each person. No pill, potion, lotion or concoction can promise individuality. Just as none can promise safe weight loss or the return to health.

So this holiday and New Year season, let us shift our mindset, focus on our health and as a result our bodies will have the energy and resources to promote weight loss while maintaining health first.
