Parents are the Primary Sexuality Educators of Their Youth!

October officially was Let’s Talk Month, an annual awareness-raising effort aimed at encouraging families to talk about sexuality and relationships by providing tools for making these conversations easier. However, we think these conversations can and should happen all year long!  When children and teens are able to have open, ongoing conversations with their parents about relationships and sex, they can get good advice and information that they can trust — including information about their bodies, relationships, keeping themselves safe, sexual health, and preventing sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and unintended pregnancy. Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts (PPLM) offers workshops in English and Spanish to help parents become the primary sexuality educators for their children. To schedule one in your community, or to learn more, visit pplm.org/parents.
