At Commonwealth School in Boston, 5 from Newton Honored by AP Program
Thirty-eight current and recently graduated students at Commonwealth School have been recognized by the College Board’s Advanced Placement Scholars program, including eight honored as both National Scholar and Scholar with Distinction. Honorees from Newton are:

In the past five years, 79 Commonwealth School seniors have been named AP Scholars with Distinction. Overall, more than 60% of the school’s seniors receive recognition from the AP Scholars program.
Commonwealth School, located in Boston’s Back Bay, is an independent co-ed high school, enrolling approximately 150 students in grades 9 to 12. Founded by educator and philanthropist Charles Merrill, the school is noted for its academic distinction and robust art, music, and athletic programs, all supported by a close-knit school community. Its alumni include diplomat and author Peter Galbraith, musician Evan Dando, actress and filmmaker Kasi Lemmons, and geneticist David Altshuler.
